LaRouche: ‘The Denver Killings are Part of a Pattern of New Terrorism’

December 9, 2007—The killings at a Christian training center for missionaries in metropolitan Denver early Sunday morning is part of a pattern of a new wave of terrorism in the United States, Lyndon LaRouche noted today. Just last Thursday, a 19-year-old shot and killed eight people and wounded six others in Omaha.

About 12:30 AM Mountain Time, an unknown gunman walked into a dormitory of the Youth With A Mission center, fired shots at four people, killing two of them, and ran away. About 45 people were in the building at the time.

As of this writing, the gunman is still at large. He is described as white, about 20 years old, wearing glasses, a skullcap or beanie, and possibly having a beard or mustache, a local police spokesman told AP.

The first of the notorious violent video game-influenced killing sprees in the United States, also occurred in suburban Denver, at Lakewood's Columbine High School in 1999.

The Arvada mission site is one of about 1,100 Youth With A Mission training centers that have about 16,000 full-time staff. The Arvada center, founded in 1984, conducts training for about 300 missionaries a year.

YET ANOTHER COLORADO SHOOTING SPREE. AP reports that later Sunday a gunman opened fire in the parking lot of a Colorado Springs church, striking four people, according to the church's pastor. The shootings took place at the New Life Church, which was founded by Rev. Ted Haggard, who was fired last year after a male prostitute said he had had a three-year cash-for-sex relationship with him. The church is one of Colorado's largest with about 10,000 members.
