Obama Found His Mustache In Copenhagen!

October 2, 2009 (LPAC)-- The following is a field report from LaRouche organizers in Denmark.

President Obama and Michelle came to Denmark to put their whole reputation on the line, to try to make sure that Chicago would be the city were the Olympics would take place in 2016.

Three LaRouche activists had a demonstration close to the building where the conference was taking place. We had a 2 by 1.5 meter poster with the picture of Obama and his mustache, captioned ”I've changed”.

Though we were few, we were standing at a strategic place. When Obama was finished speaking to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) conference, his car, as well as the rest of his entourage, passed directly by our poster, exactly where the car had to turn to drive from the conference center area, onto the major road. Although we couldn’t see him through the darkened windows of his armored car, we are certain that he had to have seen us.

The television media covered the whole process, and our poster was briefly shown (however, in the replays, that clip was removed.) Another part of the U.S. delegation also drove by our poster on their way into the congress building.

The second part of Obama’s visit was a short visit to the parliament, to meet the Danish Queen, and Prime Minister. Arriving at the parliament, we held our poster up for not even two minutes, when the police came, and angrily confiscated it, demanding our identification, even though we had a demonstration permission “against Obama’s policies in the US.” One policemen said that they had gotten an order from above. Stating that the poster was “too much,” they said it didn’t matter if we had permission or not -- they were taking away the poster until Obama left the area, and then we could have it back. Doing so, the police broke the law! Afterward, the policeman who took responsibility said that the poster was “offensive.”

By that time, one of the two main tabloid newspapers, Extra Bladet, had a report on our demonstration in front of the IOC conference, complete with a picture of the famous poster, and a link to the LaRouchePAC homepage. They also included an additional picture, as the eighth entry in a picture report of the day.

One of our organizers was interviewed on the police incident by one of the two major Danish national TV stations, but we have not yet seen it played. While we were in front of the IOC congress, a TV journalist from both a French TV station and Associated Press, interviewed an organizer.

We sent out a press release on the illegal breach of the Danish constitutional right to freedom of speech, including the fact that we plan to submit an official complaint against the police. The release also included our press documentation: LaRouche’s latest “Now, October” article, and three EIR articles on the Obama/Hitler healthcare issue, as well as the last two Danish campaign newspapers.

All in all, Obama and his crew must have exploded after seeing our poster!

The ironic thing is that, despite Obama and Michelle putting their whole prestige into play, after the first vote by the Olympic committee, Chicago received the least votes, and was thrown out in the first round. Obama must think that it is all LaRouche's fault! This poster is haunting him everywhere!

Documentation:

At the end of an article about demonstrators in the major Copenhagen tabloid EkstraBladet, accompanied by a picture of the Obama moustache poster, is the following :

subtitle: "Obama with Hitler-mustache.

A very small group of demonstrators, with another agenda, had taken their place near the Bella Center [the venue of the IOC meeting], around an election poster where Barack Obama has a characteristic Adolf Hitler-mustache. The text "I've changed," refers to Obama's slogan during the presidential election. The few demonstrators represent the action group the LaRouche political action committee [with a link to the LPAC page.] There is general dissatisfaction with Obama's policies and especially his healthcare proposal and his handling of the financial crisis…"
