LaRouche: WWIII or four-nation
alliance?
Since U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney toured
the Middle East last week, violence has exploded in his wake, and upon his
return, the Bush Administration has virtually declared war on Iran (see http://www.larouchepac.com/ for details).
The world is now on the verge of a global showdown.
The only efficient war-avoidance approach is
"peace through development"—as envisioned by Lyndon LaRouche’s Eurasian
Landbridge strategy. Russia has wholeheartedly adopted this strategy, with the
planned Bering Straits tunnel to link Russia with the Americas, and as evidenced
by LaRouche’s visit to Moscow last week, at the invitation of the Russian
Academy of Sciences, a prestigious 300 year old institution.
The May 15-16 Academy event was held in
celebration of the 80th birthday of Prof. Stanislav Menshikov,
prominent Russian economist, expert on America, and a collaborator of LaRouche.
Given President Vladimir Putin’s recent emphasis on the legacy
and economic policies of Franklin Roosevelt, the Academy and its members like
Menshikov, are taking on a more central policy making role.
Whilst in Russia, Larouche did a series of
newspaper, internet and television interviews in which he stressed that
in the face of financial crisis and the increasing ungovernability of European
nations, the United States must approach Russia, China, and India, with an
initiative to create a new world monetary system, oriented toward real economic
development. His Russian trip was a critical breakthrough in this regard.
