Bundestag Members Interested in "Real Bank Separation"
September 28, 2013 • 8:28AM
The Bundestag, Germany's lower house of parliament, apparently is not entirely manned by deadheads: In the context of defining a number of issues which the new Finance Minister should deal with, Carsten Sieling, a Social Democrat and a member of the financial policy committee, said yesterday that discussion about a "real bank separation system" must be put onto the agenda. But he did not go into any further detail.
The new Finance Minister, naturally, should be a politician of the Social Democratic Party, in his view. His aide told EIR that Sieling already discussed Glass-Steagall with some Americans, during a trip to the States some time ago, but the aide could not elaborate on that, unfortunately.
