The Ugly Face of JP Morgan Chase Exposed in Texas
July 21, 2013 • 11:50AM

At the height of LaRouchePac's mobilization nationwide, and in Texas, for state legislative action in support of HR 129, there was a direct JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) intervention in Texas, according to a leading banker with "insider" knowledge of the situation. In late April, CEO Jamie Dimon attended some kind of client retreat in Austin. In addition to schmoozing with the suckers, aka "clients" of JPMC, he paid a call to Gov. Rick Perry, to deliver a message.

JPMC has 30,000 employees in Texas, and could have a lot more, provided the state remains "banker friendly," was the message Dimon delivered to Perry. This is the same veiled threat delivered by a Morgan lobbyist to a State Senate Committee hearing in Delaware, which was considering that state's Glass Steagall memorial bill. The visit by Dimon coincided with an intense effort by LPAC, spearheaded by LPAC Policy Committee member Kesha Rogers, to secure a sponsor for a similar resolution in Texas. Despite promises to do so from numerous offices, including interest from some Republicans, there has still been no bill brought forward in Texas.

Does this mean that the proud, independent members of the legislature in the big ol' state of Texas are under the thumb of a Wall Street oligarch?
