Congressional Resistance Mobilizes Against IMAC `T-4' Board

Aug. 15, 2009 (LPAC)—In the environment of a popular "town hall" uprising against White House fascist policy, catalyzed by Lyndon LaRouche, resistance in Congress, to the White House demand that they legislate a Hitler-type 'T-4' national euthanasia board, has gone public.

The deadly board in this case is called the Independent Medicare Advisory Council (IMAC), to be given the independent and "automatic" power to cut or eliminate tests, drugs, procedures, and medical care generally to seniors, poor and disabled people, "lives not worthy of life." LaRouche has called this IMAC Obama's copy of Hitler's "Tiergarten-4" euthanasia policy, a charge now famously linked to LaRouche's name in the world's media.

News today is that a bipartisan group of U.S. Representatives has circulated a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, demanding she not propose to put this IMAC, "or any like proposal, in HR 3200 or any other legislation," as Obama and OMB Director Peter Orszag unconditionally demand. The letter was initiated by Rep. Richard Neal (D-MA), and some reports suggest there are as many as 75 signers However, LPAC has not been able to see the list of signers thus far.

The letter to Pelosi is couched in cautious terms of defending Congress' important role in updating Medicare and its funding, and through it, protecting vulnerable citizens in their districts. But its opening is clear: "We, the undersigned Members of Congress, write to voice our strong opposition to the 'Independent Medicare Advisory Council (IMAC) Act of 2009' [drafted personally by Orszag—ed.] and the 'Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) Reform Act of 2009, and the inclusion of any of these proposals in the "America's Affordable Health Choices Act (HR 3200) or any other legislation."
