Obama Euthanasia Denounced at House Markup July 21, 2009 (LPAC)—Britain and some other countries have "MADE THE TRADE-OFF... [TO] ACCEPT THAT SOME OF OUR YOUNG WOMEN ARE GOING TO DIE OF BREAST CANCER... THAT'S THE TRADE-OFF THIS BILL PRESENTS AMERICA," Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI) told the House Energy and Commerce committee July 20, during its markup of Obama's Nazi-like health care reform bill.
Rogers was speaking in support of an amendment by Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.), who is a medical doctor, to prohibit the Center for Quality Improvement from "dictating" treatment options available to doctors. "When you start talking about getting [accountants] involved between the doctor and the patient— and this bill will do that through 'best practices,' through 'comparative effectiveness'— because its the only way to cut costs."
Rogers, himself a young cancer survivor, listed the survival rate of bladder and other cancers: nearly 99% in the US, and only 75% in Canada, Britain and Denmark,— countries which have adopted Comparative Effectiveness guidelines denying treatment, as NICE has in Britain. "Let's not even 'draw that line in the sand'... We will not allow a bureaucrat or a politician to get in between a doctor and a patient," he said.
