Obama, Heading Towards His Waterloo

July 20, 2009 (LPAC)—President Obama all but admitted defeat today on getting health care reform through by August. "Let's pass reform by the end of this year," he said today at the end of yet another "Pass my health care program!" pep talk at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. today. Spokes-jester Robert Gibbs also spoke of an "expeditious timetable that can see reform happen this year," and refused to say that Obama was still ruling out delay beyond the August recess, when asked point-blank about it at the White House briefing this afternoon.

Even once-hardcore supporters of Obamamania are breaking ranks. LaRouche PAC organizers report, that at an Organizing for America meeting in Houston this past weekend with Reps. Sheila Jackson-Lee and Al Green, Jackson-Lee first identified herself as a "general" for her "commander in chief," but she assured the audience of 30 or so Democrats, that "there will be a group of us that will be really fighting MedPac," the proposal to create the Nazi board to decide who lives, who dies, which is the core of the Orzag-Obama plan.

"...MedPac is a vision of a sort of Big Brother," she said. "That is sort of a gigantic HMO that some people feel that we need, in order to make decisions. We're going to try to understand it, but the initial response of many people in the Progressive [Caucus] and Congressional Black Caucus, and others, are concerned about somebody else, getting a phone call, and the phone is busy, or they've gone home for the day."

And from a different camp, Rep. Allen Boyd of Florida, a senior Blue Dog Democrat, said over the weekend that "many of us think we should scrap it and start over."

His desperation rising, President Obama lashed out personally today at South Carolina Sen. DeMint, for stating that defeating Obama's health care, will be his Waterloo, and break him. "It's not about me... It's about the health care system," the stung Narcissus-in-Chief whined.
