White House/Congress Bandwagon For Nazi-Medicine Continues With May 20 Closed-Door Session

May 17, 2009 (LPAC)—On May 20, the third and final closed-door session of the Senate Finance Committee takes place on what is to result in a "comprehensive health care reform" bill, the Nazi-medicine policy, demanded by the White House gang of Whore-Bag, Summers et al. After the week-long Memorial Day recess, the Senate Committee can expect to see and vote on a new bill, sometime in June, according to Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mt.), who, with ranking minority member Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), has been part of the bums-rush in Washington to decree new ways to give the HMO/financial interests their desired final round of blood-money.

Besides the closed-door Senate Committee meetings (April 28, May 14 and May 20), Baucus and Grassley held three public roundtables in April and May, with such (Dracula) stake-holders participating as Aetna, one of the top five managed-care companies, American Enterprise Institute, and other think tanks specializing in schemes for looting.

The Senate Finance Committee has posted two 50-page discussion documents preparatory to releasing a draft "reform" bill: The May 11 one, "Proposals to Provide Affordable Coverage to All Americans," is a melange of how to have a pretense of giving everyone health insurance, while preserving the "managed care" rip-offs, and cutting actual treatment.

- Beyond HMOs—Accountable Care Organizations -

The earlier Senate Committee paper is, "Transforming the Health Care Delivery System: Proposals to Improve Patient Care and Reduce Health Care Costs." This goes way beyond "managed" care, into actual "Accountable Care Organizations," in which the patient/victim would be assigned to an ACO—a care group, in which the physician and others will be rewarded according to how much they reduce and deny care. This paper covers such specifics as, "Evidence-Based Decision-Making for Imaging Services," referring to curbs on using modern scanning technologies, despite the fact that radiology-imaging is declining anyway, because of the crash.

Banned from even a mention in this Congressional hoop-la, is the fact that multi-billions of dollars are streaming into the echelons of international banks and insurance companies through HMOs directly, and in Medicare, Medicaid. Today, an estimated 154 million Americans are enrolled in managed care; of these, 109.7 million are in PPOs (preferred provider organizations) and 44.3 million in HMOs.

The 50 largest companies control 60% of the managed health-care market. The top five of these, according to Fortune, for 2009, are UnitedHealthGroup ($81 billion in revenue); Wellpoint ($61 billion); Aetna ($31 billion); Humana ($29 billion); and Cigna ($19 billion). Behind these companies stand the very same financial institutions now stealing tax money through the TARP and other bailout swindles. Now they want your money AND your life.
