Pakistan Prime Minister Rejects British Overture
December 15, 2008 (LPAC)--Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani told the national Parliament today that he has rejected a request from British PM Gordon Brown to allow British police to question suspects arrested in the Mumbai terror case, Xinhua reported today.
"I don't blame them," Lyndon LaRouche commented on the development. "Maybe the interrogation should go the other way: we want information on the British involvement in the Mumbai case."
Prime Minister Gilani explained: "The British Prime Minister asked me to allow British police to have access to the Pakistanis. But I turned down the request." If there is any proof against the suspects, he said, they will be prosecuted under Pakistani law.
Brown made his request during his visit to Islamabad and New Delhi yesterday. He also asked the Indian government to allow British police to question the suspects, Xinhua reported.
