“Having championed the neo-conservative agenda of the disastrous Bush presidency in the past eight years, the Religious Right appear to be now switching crusades in favour of the quack science of ‘global warming,’” charged CEC National Secretary Craig Isherwood today.
Mr Isherwood attacked American evangelical leader Rev. Richard Cizik’s address to this week’s National Parliamentary Prayer Breakfast in Canberra, and his claim that inaction on climate change is an “offence against God”—a message he delivered in person to Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Opposition Environment spokesman Greg Hunt.
“The Flagellants whipped each other to atone for their sins, calling on the populace to repent,” Mr Isherwood said. “Today, we have the Global Warmers whipping our sick economy to death, even during the worst financial crash since the 14th Century! How insane can you get?
“Cizik is a self-described ‘Bush conservative’; the movement he led was instrumental in both the election and re-election of the world’s dumbest president, a puppet for the evil neo-conservatives who used the Bush administration to impose fascism and war, and override the principle of national sovereignty in international law.
“As Executive Intelligence Review magazine has documented, the Religious Right is financed by huge sums of government money laundered through ‘faith-based initiatives,’ with which it has engaged in extensive social engineering to shape elections, etc.
“Is Rev. Cizik an indication that that extensive apparatus is swinging behind the climate change crusade?” Mr Isherwood questioned.
Mr Isherwood pointed out that the neo-conservative and climate change agendas shared two characteristics: globalism, and Wall Street/City of London money.
Mr Isherwood elaborated, “Now, the fact of the matter is, this global warming hype is one big bankers’ swindle brought to you by the same stinking British financial oligarchy that sold you the disaster of globalisation. Look at the pedigree of those peddling this pseudoscience—take for example Al Gore’s business partner David Blood. As Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s CEO he was in charge of $325bn in assets. But in 2004 he left to co-found the London-based Generation Investment Management with Al Gore.
“We’re looking at the same banker crowd that pressured the U.S. Congress to pass the $700 billion banker bailout package. U.S. Treasury Secretary and former Goldman Sachs chief executive Hank Paulson—another climate change swindler, is an important case in point.
“Financier Maurice Strong, the Secretary General of the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development, laid out the real intent behind the financial oligarchy’s crusade on global warming in his query: ‘Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialised civilisations collapse? Isn’t it our responsibility to bring that about?’
“What we have here, is a financial oligarchy which intends to destroy the economy via draconian measures—such as shutting down farming in the Murray-Darling Basin—to stop a problem which doesn’t exist in the first place, the pre-calculable effects of which will be genocide. Does that count as a sin in Rev. Cizik’s bible?”
