Rudd should heed warning of Irish “NO” vote to British imperial Europe

The Irish “NO” vote to the European Union’s Lisbon Treaty is a clear message for Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and his proposed EU-style Asian Union: the lower 80% of people want the economy fixed, and will punish governments pushing more globalisation.

The Lisbon Treaty was cooked up by the British financier elite to impose an imperial dictatorship over Europe, but in a treaty form that didn’t require the ratification-by-referendum that sank the 96% identical European Constitution in 2005. (Click here for more background to the treaty.)

Of the 27 nations of Europe, 26 nations proceeded to ratify by parliamentary vote, and only one—Ireland—put it to referendum, but that referendum resulted in a firm “NO” vote, which has thrown the Treaty plotters into disarray.

Now, the elites of Europe have two problems: how to arbitrarily change the rules so as to ignore Ireland’s popular vote, whilst maintaining the pretence of “democracy”; and how to suppress the growing chorus of demands from the populations of the other member nations of Europe for their own referenda, which would also surely result in emphatic rejection.

The lower 80% of the people are revolting: it was the lower 80% socio-economic strata of the population in Ireland that carried the “NO” vote, because their issue was the economy. The much-touted Irish economic miracle has evaporated, unemployment is skyrocketing, and more than one-third of Irish families can barely pay their bills. Sound familiar?

The people are no longer docile, so the elite agenda to push ahead with globalisation, the revival of the British imperial model of global free trade, at the expense of the lower 80%, is being rejected, wherever the people get to have their say.

Kevin Rudd has been elected during the greatest economic crisis in world history, but thus far has refused to respond to the economic plight of Australians, insisting that people have to wear the hike in petrol prices, food prices, and interest rates, the widespread loss of their homes, and the loss of national food security.

Instead, he has pursued an international agenda to force starving third world nations to accept more free trade, and is now proposing the nations of our region form an Asian Union, based on the EU model of subjugating the sovereignty of regional nations, which the European people are rejecting.

Continuing this approach will ensure the political demise of Rudd and his entire party, and jeopardise the future of our nation. Join the CEC for a real political alternative.
