The world is heading into a dangerous period, with a combination of world financial crisis, and deep political trouble for the Cheney gang in the U.S. White House, raising the spectre of a new 9/11 attack during the month of August.

Physical economist and Democratic Party elder statesman Lyndon LaRouche will address this danger in an address from Washington D.C., webcast internationally, early this Friday morning Australian time.

LaRouche will speak about the urgent necessity, within the next two weeks, of impeaching U.S. Vice President Cheney. Nothing short of this will intervene to stop a "Guns of August" start to a new Iran war, for which Cheney has reportedly received the go-ahead.

In this context, LaRouche, along with other commentators like former Reagan administration official, Paul Craig Roberts, has warned of the possibility of a "new 9/11" which would be the only thing which could bring the U.S. population into tune with such plans, by terrifying them.

Such a war would ultimately be aimed at preventing the sort of U.S.-Russia cooperation which has sprung up in recent months, organised by the likes of LaRouche, Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush as a means of dealing with the rapidly collapsing global financial system.

The collapse of the Australian hedge fund, Basis Capital, has served to bring home LaRouche’s warnings of a global derivatives-led financial implosion. This is merely the tip of the iceberg of the meltdown of the sub-prime mortgage market, the latest in a series of bubbles deliberately designed to sucker in money from the people to prop up a system which has essentially been bankrupt for decades.
