LaRouche Youth Movement calls for Australian BAE investigation

The LaRouche Youth Movement is calling on all members of the Australian House and Senate to support an investigation by the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade, into the operations of BAE Systems in Australia, based on the investigations of bribery and corruption already underway internationally. They have submitted a draft form of a proposed resolution to every State and Federal Member of Parliament. It follows here:

Whereas, given that BAE Systems holds significant contracts with the Australian Defence Force and BAE Systems Australia is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BAE Systems of Britain, which is currently under investigation for massive bribery and corruption allegations by several foreign governments;

Whereas, current independent investigations have found that the "Al-Yamamah" deal, through the BAE sale of some 600,000 barrels of Saudi Oil sold on the International Spot Market daily, has generated an estimated US$80-$100 billion slush fund, allegedly used to fund covert wars, coups and assassinations;

Whereas, at the present stage of multiple investigations, the "Al-Yamamah" slush fund has been implicated in channelling funds to terrorist operations such as 9/11, operations surrounding Augusto Pinochet, former Chilean dictator, and is possibly implicated in the mysterious and brutal deaths of Egyptian arms dealer, Ashraf Marwan and, Brahim Deby, (the 27- year old son of Chad's President), both of whom had connections to BAE;

Therefore, be it further resolved, that the LaRouche Youth Movement, Australian delegation, introduce legislation that would prevent the corrupt and dangerous practice of predatory companies in the business of providing defence contracts to our military, such as the aforementioned BAE Systems.

Please contact your local representatives to demand they support this initiative. To find your Member of Parliament's contact details, go to http://www.aph.gov.au/. For more information about the proposed BAE investigation, contact the LYM on 03 9355 8637 or by email at lym@cecaust.com.au.
