EIR has just released the first report in its ongoing
investigation into the BAE Systems/Saudi Prince Bandar scandal which broke
publicly on BBC on June 6
th.
The scandal surrounds payments, worth more than US$2 billion, overseen by the
British Ministry of Defence, from BAE to Prince Bandar.
The payoffs allowed BAE to secure huge Saudi defence contracts, in return for
which the Saudis provided Britain with one tanker (approx. 600, 000 barrels) of
oil per day!
EIR has calculated that in monetary terms, Britain got the better end
of the exchange by more than double. EIR's investigation centres on what
that resulting British slush-fund was used for. The answer to that question
betrays the modus operandi of the British/Anglo-American Empire going
back to the days of the British East India Company.
