A Gorey Idea Put to Sleep

December 20, 2007--Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, released a report today that he has dubbed the "Global Warming Consensus Busting Report." The report features 400 international scientists who have during 2007 voiced significant objections to the so-called consensus of man-made global warming. Many of the featured scientists have been participants either currently or in the past in the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Inhofe's report notes that even some in the news media have noticed the growing number of skeptical scientists. In October, Washington Post science writer Juliet Eilperin conceded the obvious, writing that climate skeptics "appear to be expanding rather than shrinking." With this growing number of scientists attacking global warming, scientists have dubbed 2007 as the year man-made global warming bites the dust.

The new Senate report lists the 400 scientists by name, country, and their academic/institutional affiliation and provides links to their statements attacking Al Gore's global warming. The report highlights the recent converts from the belief in man-made global warming. The report also features statements from the scientists on how they have received death threats and other forms of intimidation.
