Russian Source Exposes Chemical Attack As a Saudi 'Black Op'; Bandar Creates a Countergang
October 6, 2013 • 12:53PM

On October 4, Voice of Russia posted a blockbuster article saying that the August 21 chemical weapons attack in Al Ghouta in the suburbs of Damascus was done by a Saudi Arabian black operations team.

"Based on data from a number of sources a picture can be pieced together. The criminal provocation in Eastern Ghouta was done by a black op team that the Saudis sent through Jordan and which acted with support of the Liwa Al-Islam group, a source in the diplomatic circles said," says the VoR article.

The new evidence and assertions by Russian, Syrian and other sources, including members of the Syrian opposition, is being presented to governments around the world not only to provide evidence of rebel CW attacks, but to prevent the Saudi-controlled rebels in Syria from destroying the U.S.-Russia Agreement to have Syria's CW arsenal removed.

Russian sources believe that the rebels are preparing attacks, even a false-flag chemical weapons attack, in order to destroy the U.S.-Russia agreement.

At the same time, Saudi Prince Bandar bin-Sultan, head of Saudi intelligence and patron of the neo-Salafi and jihadi terrorists in Syria, is behind the creation of a jihadi "Army of Islam" in Syria. The creation of this Army of Islam, made up of about 50 Islamist organizations, is an attempt to keep the neo-Salafis in power by creating a phony "new" organization, separate from Jabhat al Nusra and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) that the United States has named as "terrorists."

In reality, this is a maneuver to create a phony division. According to an Oct. 4 article by investigative reporter and blogger, Liwa al-Islam is headed by Zahran Alloush, the son of the Saudi-based Salafist cleric, Abdullah Mohammed Alloush. It is well-known that Zahran Alloush, who rejects negotiations with al-Assad, conducts joint operations with Jabhat al-Nusra.

Lendman highlighted the Voice of Russia story that implicates Jordan in the Al Ghouta chemical weapons attack of August 21. "The Saudi black ops teams were based in Jordan," Lendman wrote. King "Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein's Hashemite Kingdom is complicit."

A well-informed Middle East intelligence source told EIRNS that Liwa Al-Islam is one of the major Saudi assets in the Syrian civil war. Among its notorious actions, Liwa Al-Islam claimed responsibility for the July 2012 bombing of the secret government meeting in Damascus that killed top Syrian officials, including Defense Minister Dawoud Rajiha, his deputy Asef Shawkat, and Assistant Vice President Hassan Turkmani, reported "Russia Today" in an Oct. 4 background article. Liwa Al-Islam is one of the 11 jihadi groups that issued a statement Sept. 24 disassociating from the Syrian National Coalition, and they are now vying to become the "official" Saudi-backed opposition.

Propagandists for this Saudi operation are already at work, with an Oct. 1 article by Hassan Hassan appearing in Foreign Policy. "The Army of Islam Is Winning in Syria," is the title, with the subhead, "And that's not necessarily a bad thing."
