Russian Media Cite LaRouche Warning of Nuclear War
August 12, 2013 • 9:22AM

Russia's MIGnews.com, a military news feed, on Aug. 10 ran a story picked up from the Iranian FARS story earlier this week on Lyndon LaRouche's warnings about Israel's provocations leading to thermonuclear war. Under the headline, "Russian-U.S. Nuclear War Could Begin Because of Israel," MIGnews.com reports:

"The official Iranian agency FARS has reprinted an article by 'American politician and activist' Lyndon LaRouche. LaRouche is an eight-time candidate for the U.S. Presidency. LaRouche founded the 'analytical weekly Executive Intelligence Review (EIR).' In its latest issue, LaRouche states the following: 'Ongoing Israeli actions vis-a-vis Syria, including the July 5 Israeli Air Force (IAF) bombing of arms depots near Latakia, could trigger a wider war and lead to a thermonuclear conflict between Russia and the USA.' In 2004, commenting on the U.S. war in Iraq, LaRouche said that it was the implementation of '1996 Israeli government directives that are being foisted on the President by a nest of Israeli agents inside the White House.' "

The MIGnews version of the story was picked up by Rosbalt, a major news agency, under the headline "Russian-U.S. Nuclear War over Syria Forecast." Rosbalt's dispatch has been republished in the Azerbaijani media and on the Russia-based Eurasia Information and Analysis Portal (evrazia.org), the latter headlining: "U.S. Opposition Says Israeli Attacks on Syria Could Provoke Nuclear War."
