Obama's Clones in the Philippines Call on Japan To Prepare for War on China
December 11, 2012 • 10:14AM

Philippines Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario, Obama's only Asian voice (other than Australia) for his planned military confrontation with China, told the Financial Times of London today that his government is calling on Japan to change its Constitution so that it can re-arm and prepare for a war with China. "We would welcome that very much," Albert del Rosario told the Financial Times in an interview. "We are looking for balancing factors in the region and Japan could be a significant balancing factor."

This insanity comes days before an election in Japan that could see the return as prime minister of Shinzo Abe, who is committed to revising Japan's pacifist constitution and to beefing up its military. A source in Japan told EIR that if Abe's LDP gains two-thirds of the seats in the lower house elections this month, which is a real possibility, and follows that with two-thirds in the upper house in the Spring, then they could indeed change the Constitution and militarize the nation, which the source said would be "very bad for everyone."

In the meantime, U.S. and Philippine officials will meet Dec. 11 and 12 to discuss expanding American military presence there, according to the Philippine Assistant Secretary for U.S. Affairs Carlos Sorreta. "Foremost in the agenda is the increased rotational presence" of U.S. forces in the Philippines, he said. "Rotational presence" is the euphemism for permanently deployed forces and open access to warships and military aircraft to Philippine bases, a euphemism used to get around the Philippine Constitutional restraint against foreign bases in the country.
