Death Lobby on the March—from Britain to Washington, D.C.

October 14, 2009 (LPAC)—Even as the Senate Finance Committee voted up the Obama Administration's Hitler health bill, the British-run Death Lobby was demonstrating exactly what lies ahead for Americans, if that so-called health reform is not stopped.

Most grisly was the revelation in the British tabloid, The Daily Mail, that the Royally-sponsored Liverpool Care Pathway (LCP) was responsible for murdering a 76-year-old man, despite vehement objections from his wife. Jack Jones, a cancer survivor, went to the Liverpool Marie Curie hospice for respite care in January 2006, complaining of pain and difficulties in eating. The doctor there told him he had had a recurrence of cancer, and put him on the Liverpool Care Protocol—deep sedation and deprivation of food and water. Murder!

Indeed that's precisely what Jones's wife Pat accused the hospital of. After her husband's death, she found out that he did not have a recurrence of cancer, and was suffering instead from pneumonia. But the doctors refused to do the tests to confirm whether he had pneumonia, although his wife had asked them to check it out. Upon receiving an out-of-court settlement for the death, Mrs. Jones said: "As far as I'm concerned, his death was manslaughter. It's barbaric and I don't want any other family to go through what we've had to."

The Mail article reports that the LCP is used by hundreds of hospitals and care homes, and is followed in as many as 20,000 deaths a year.

Meanwhile, on Oct. 13, the organization Compassion & Choices (originally the Hemlock Society) began a two-day symposium at the National Press Club, where they set up a slew of panels to promote euthanasia. Reports from the LaRouche Youth Movement the morning of Oct. 13 indicated that the turnout was hardly stellar—about 20 people, and numerous panels were being cancelled.

However, the program extends into Oct. 14, when Barbara Coombs Lee, driving force behind the Oregon and Washington State laws, will speak, and the discussion will turn to strategy to push their euthanasia agenda.
