20 Years Later, the Mass Strike Has Spread From DDR to U.S.A.

October 10, 2009 (LPAC)-- October 9, 2009, was the twentieth anniversary of the crucial candle-light vigil in Leipzig, which broke the back of the East German regime, and led, just weeks later, to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Just days before the Leibzig march, the top leadership of the DDR had gathered to celebrate their 40th anniversary in power, and to fantasize about the future of a "thousand year East German reich." Just days later, they were out of power. Tonight in Leipzig, our LYM organizers were present at the celebration of that mass-strike victory. Kurt Mazur was conducting a program of Beethoven, Bach, Mendelsohn, and Brahms, a fitting reminder of the driving force of Classical culture, particularly Classical music. Because of his understanding of the dynamics of history, Lyndon LaRouche had forecast the fall of the Wall a year earlier, in his now-famous press conference in West Berlin in Oct. 1988. LaRouche had seen the inevitable demise of the entire Soviet bloc, in the moment that the British-manipulated Yuri Andropov had rejected Ronald Reagan's Strategic Defense Initiative offer of collaboration in the development and deployment of beam defense systems that would render nuclear weapons obsolete, and drive a scientific and technological revolution.

Now, we in the LaRouche Movement, are confronted with the unique and awesome responsibility for leading the same kind of mass strike process here in the United States. We are the leadership; there is no alternative whatsoever.

We are getting reports from around the country, of the tremendous opportunities out there, as we drive the organizing around the LaRouche Plan, which is the only viable solution to the otherwise certain plunge into a planetary dark age. There is no downturn in the mass strike ferment. Just because Congress has been told to duck out of any public meetings, after the beating they took during the August recess, does not mean that the popular mood has shifted or the anger has lessened. Harley Schlanger, reported today that last Friday's job data—nearly 5 million net jobs lost in the U.S. since Obama took office—was a breaking point for many in the African-American community, who up until then, still tried to defend Obama, despite their growing misgivings. Among the so-called Tea Party activists, there is a total ferment around LaRouche, and we are finding that the aggressive organizing around the LaRouche Plan is sorting out the crazy populists from the serious leaders, who are willing to even break from their past uninformed prejudices against FDR, when presented with LaRouche's plan for bankruptcy reorganization and the investment in massive infrastructure projects, to create millions of high-tech blue collar jobs.

The October phase-shift is also being borne out every day, with a total panic over the prospect of a crash of the dollar, bringing down the entire global financial system. Behind the rubbish stories about a "break" with the dollar, and a conspiracy of China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, France, and others to end oil trading and other key commodity trading in dollars, is the reality that the Fed and Treasury are pursuing a willful policy of driving down the dollar, a policy that LaRouche denounced earlier this week as "tantamount to treason." One senior Washington source today warned that the dollar is near a "redline" where a precipitous crash could occur at any moment.

Faced with this here-and-now reality, there is no alternative to the LaRouche Plan. Unless there is a complete bankruptcy reorganization of the Federal Reserve System, wiping out the vast majority of unpayable speculative debt, there can be no recovery. Forget "jobless recovery" and nonsense like that. We are talking about an evaporation of the global financial system, and everything that goes down with it. Think about a Wiemar hyperinflationary blowout on a global scale. Today we noted that some commodity prices—gold, tin, sugar—are hyperinflating, as the commercial real estate crash escalates, and as one state after another announces new draconian budget cuts. With or without Obama's Nazi-modeled euthanasia "health care reform" scheme, many many people are going to die this winter as a result of the collapse, until and unless the LaRouche Plans is implemented.
