Town Meeting Ferment Continues; Congressman Shouted Down In Long Island Ruckus

Oct. 8, 2009 (LPAC)—"Shouts, insults fly at Rep. Israel's health care town hall," screams the headline in Long Island (NY) Newsday, as another expression of the mass-strike ferment of a people uniting against the threat which the presently disintegrating monetary system poses to their lives, rather than any particular issue.

When Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) tried to hold a health care forum at Suffolk County Community College Monday night, he was met by a crowd of 450 inside, and many more outside. Faced with shouts of "Stop printing money"; "We don't care what you think"; and "You're a moron"; Israel at one point futilely pleaded with the crowd to "Stop calling me a liar and listen."

A posting on the right-wing forum FreeRepublic.com said that the loudest booing, however, was directed at the representative of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP)—which has become nothing but a front for United Healthcare, a major promotor of Obama's Nazi health plan. Israel refused to take direct questions, instead hiding behind the skirts of the League of Women Voters, whose representatives collected written questions and read selected questions to the Congressman.

"The audience was genuinely angry, and Israel's refusal to take questions from the crowd fueled that anger," said the Freeper. "The people I spoke with are energized & angry — particularly about the arrogance of our 'representatives' and the way they're marginalizing our opinions."
