September 22, 2009 (LPAC)—A little more than 15 years ago, American statesman Lyndon LaRouche penned a major article for Fidelio magazine, in which he pointed to the case of British Lord Bertrand Russell as the key to opening the eyes of the world's educated elite, to the danger of the imposition of a world Malthusian empire, dominated by the British imperial system. The extensive article, entitled "How Bertrand Russell Became An Evil Man, Reflections Upon Tragedy & Hope," dated July 23 by the author, was printed in the Fall 1994 edition of the Schiller Institute's magazine.

LaRouche's piece came at the point of a sharpening conflict between the global British agenda, and the first Clinton administration. One month before, in June, LaRouche had written his Ninth Forecast on "The Coming Disintegration of the Financial Markets," identifying the fact that "The presently existing global financial and monetary system will disintegrate during the near term," and calling for bankruptcy reorganization. The international derivatives bubble had already shown signs of popping, yet the leading political circles in the United States and Russia clearly did not grasp the fundamentals of the crisis. LaRouche had seen this fact first hand, during a June trip to Russia, where he discussed the onrushing crisis with that nation's elite.

As for the British imperialists, they had acknowledged the crisis by utilizing the United Nations as a tool for seeking to establish a one-world dictatorship. The specific campaign centered on the June 1994 Cairo Conference on Population, where proposals had been drafted which would enforce the imperialist depopulation agenda globally—an agenda which the Clinton Administration had rejected in crucial aspects. LaRouche launched an international campaign to defeat the Cairo plot, successfully.

In the wake of this event, LaRouche wrote the following article, identifying the historical and philosophical character of Bertrand Russell, as crucial to understanding both current history, and the 650 year conflict between Venetian methods and the Florentine Renaissance.

So, why reprint this article today?

We have now reached a new decisive phase of the battle of the Brutish Empire, against the legacy of the Renaissance, especially as embodied in the institutions of the sovereign republic of the United States. What was a threatened disintegration of the financial system then, is now an imminent threat of the collapse of civilization itself. The threat of global dictatorship now comes in the form of the "climate change" hoax, yet with the very same content of reducing the world's population by billions of people.

More crucially, the intellectual elite of the key nations who must bring the world out of this existential crisis—those in the United States, Russia, China, and India—have still not shown a mastery of the fundamental epistemological issues LaRouche presented in this piece. But today, the economic breakdown crisis has taught them that they had better pay attention to what LaRouche has to say. And so, we revive LaRouche's work on Dirty Bertie, the man who did so much to shape the evil we face, and must now be ultimately destroyed.

(Note: Author LaRouche does not support this characterization of Moses Maimonides. This footnote was inserted by then EIR editor, Nora Hamerman, who soon broke with LaRouche over related issues. Enemies of LaRouche took control of EIR and related publications shortly after his fraudulent imprisonment in January 1989. A rabid convert to Buckley family-style Carlist gnosticism, anti-Semite Fernando Quijano was the leader of the clique, controlled by LaRouche's intelligence community adversaries. Quijano tendered his resignation from EIR to LaRouche on learning that LaRouche was being released from imprisonment.
