Of Protest Crowds and Czars September 14, 2009 (LPAC)—The turnout for Saturday's protest in Washington, DC, was at least in the hundreds of thousands, with the London Daily Mail reporting "up to two million" protesters. The Washington Post and the New York Times, as usual when events do not please their controllers, are in coverup mode, reporting the crowd as being in the tens of thousands. We suspect that their estimates were done by the same crew at the Bureau of Labor Statistics which counts job losses, given the similarity of the results.
Among the issues which concerned the crowd was the proliferation of "czars" in the Obama Administration. Lyndon LaRouche has noted that the czar process, and the related proliferation of signing statements, are actually attempts at imposing an imperial-style fascist regime in the U.S., in contradiction to the Constitution. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) picked up on that theme in an op-ed in today's Washington Post, which called the proliferation of 32 czars under the Obama administration "a dangerous precedent which undermines the Constitution's guarantee of separated powers. It must be stopped."
