Obama Administration's Next Fascist Ploy: Forced Savings?

September 9, 2009 (LPAC)—Remember Hitler's Volkswagen ploy? Every worker in Nazi Germany had monies taken out of his account, in order to accumulate the funds to pay for development of the "people's car" which he would get some day. In reality, after German workers paid at least $67 million dollars, by having 5 marks a week taken out of their paychecks, the car never came.

We call it "forced savings," or just plain looting.

Not surprisingly, the Nazi behavioral economists of today, ensconced in the Obama Administration, are up to the same trick. They call it "helping workers save." But it amounts to devising means of manipulating people into doing what the economists consider "rational."

President Obama outlined one aspect of the plan in his radio address on Sept. 4. After crying crocodile tears about the $2 trillion in retirement savings which American workers have lost in the financial collapse, Obama laid out a four point plan. It begins with ordering, by administrative fiat, automatic enrollment of nearly all workers (unless their firm is too small) into retirement accounts (401ks or IRAs). Allegedly you'll be able to opt out—but, as media coverage was quick to report, the economists are counting on the fact that workers won't do it, once the money is taken out.

The other two items call for having the government place the tax refunds given back to Americans every year, directly into these accounts, and permitting employers to pay overtime pay and such "extra" compensation into such accounts directly. The government will also "permit" deposit of refunds into federal savings bonds.
