Obama Going to Congress Is Move of Desperation

September 4, 2009 (LPAC)—Commenting on the latest tactic by President Nero to push through his Nazi health plan—an uninvited address to a joint session of Congress, Democrat Richard O'Donnell warned that this is an act of desperation. "Obama is giving a speech they never intended to make ... they're doing this from desperation," said O'Donnell on Wed. Sept. 2 in an appearance on the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC. O'Donnell was chief of staff for the Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee in 1993-94, when President Bill Clinton failed to pass a health care reform bill. Rubbing in the failure, O'Donnell said, "September was supposed to be the signing ceremony in the Rose Garden for this legislation. So they're doing something now that was not in their script." He added that Obama is "actually in a much worse place" when Clinton was in the 1994 failure, when Republicans were willing to talk to him.

Reportedly, Democratic leaders Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi were not even told about this speech to Congress—they heard from the media, like everybody else. Only later, did they get together and issue an invitation to the President. The phony letter says, "Our nation is closer than ever to achieving health insurance reform that will lower costs, retain choice, improve quality and expand coverage. We are committed to reaching this goal. We would like to invite you to address a Joint Session of the Congress... Thank you for considering this invitation to speak to the Congress and the nation."

The last President to address a joint session (that was not either a State of the Union, or traditional new term address) was George W. Bush on September 20, 2001—to announce the war on terrorism. Informed Washington sources told LPAC this week that indeed, after 7 months, Obama is following in the footsteps of the "unitary executive" of Dick Cheney and Bush, and his health care diktats are a prime example of this—along with backtracking on closing Guantanamo and giving trials to the prisoners there.

Lyndon LaRouche said on Thursday, "Cheney used the attacks to go for dictatorship, and along the way, he and others made sure there was never a true investigation into 9/11. Obama has adopted the same unitary executive dictatorial approach as Cheney. This is clear by his actions, especially his approach to the health care issue. He is acting unconstitutionally."

Other observers report that Obama is growing increasingly manic as his poll numbers continue to fall, and while he had given the Senate Finance Committee until Sept. 15 to reach a bipartisan deal and come up with a bill, he dispatched David "Ax" Axelrod to announce that Obama is short-circuiting the process because this cannot wait until Sept. 15.

Elected Democrats are bolting from the Obama policy. Not only have numerous Blue Dog Democrats announced that they are not going to go along with Obama's poison policy, but Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) said she won't vote for a health care bill with a public option. That was after 1,000 constituents showed up at her town meeting in Arkansas last night.
