Press Hysteria Over LaRouche - Today's Grid

August 20, 2009 (LPAC) - The shattering of the press containment of LaRouche escalated further today, as bumbling Barney Frank's confrontation with the LaRouche Youth Movement's Rachel Brown provided a clown show for the right and the left, all blaming LaRouche for all that ails them, while attempting to hide the reality of the mass strike which they cannot understand. LaRouche's comment after being briefed on the reports below was: "This is exactly like the French press when Napoleon escaped from Elba - at first it was 'The ogre has escaped;' then 'The monster is approaching Paris;' but then 'The hero has returned!'" (More on this below.)

Every network and most cable stations played the confrontation between Rachel Brown and Barney Frank in their prime time programs, mostly featuring Buffoon Barney's question about "what planet are you from?" as if it showed he was tough, standing up to the "crazies," even though most left out Rachel's LaRouche connection. Most revealing is that both Rush Limbaugh and Jon Stewart, both the right and the left, showed the video of the confrontation, made clear that this was LaRouche vs. Barney, and then suggested that the proper response to Barney would be to note that he was from Uranus - adding another of Lyn's jokes to popular culture, along with the now famous moustache. It is unlikely that Barney will bring up other planets again.

The blogs went into conniptions about LaRouche, the right-wing screaming that the networks are trying to discredit the right by not reporting that Rachel Brown was a Democrat with LaRouche rather than a respectable right-winger; and the left-wing saying that the right was way off base in blaming the Democrats, since the Democratic Party had renounced LaRouche and wouldn't let his delegates attend their Convention.

Perhaps the most telling blog was titled "Obama or LaRouche for the Democrats?" Terry Crowley in examiner.com, a right-wing blog, writes that "Democrats will have to decide whether they want to stick with Obama or they want to go with the LaRouche-ites..."

In March 1815 the French newspaper Moniteur reported as follows on Napoleon's journey to Paris after his escape from Elba.

—March 10: The Corsican ogre has landed at Cape Juan.

—March 11: The tiger is in Gap. Troops are on their way and will stop him. He will end his miserable adventure as a homeless refugee in the mountains.

—March 12: The monster succeeded in proceeding to Grenoble.

—March 13: The tyrant is now in Lyon. Horror has caught the people.

—March 18: The usurper is some days march distant from Paris.

—March 19: Bonaparte approaches in a hurry, but he will not succeed in advancing to Paris.

—March 20: Napoleon will be in Paris tomorrow.

—March 21: Emperor Napoleon is in Fontainebleau.

—March 22: Yesterday evening His Majesty celebrated his arrival in Paris. The jubilation cannot be described.
