How Physicians Become Killers

June 3, 2009 (LPAC)—As Obama health care cost-cutting advisor Ezekiel Emanuel pushes the program for the sick to be left to die by withdrawing medical care, will American physicians quietly go along with the program, as the German doctors who themselves implemented Nazi euthanasia?

They have been trained to do so — in large part due to the work of Ezekiel Emanuel's former wife, with whom he worked out his pro-death philosophy over many years of collaboration to become co-leaders of the field of "bio-ethics" or euthanasia.

Linda Emanuel was trained at Cambridge University and University College London, Oxford University. Back in the USA, she founded a program for the American Medical Association based on new initiatives from George Soros and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

In 1994, George Soros began his Project on Death in America, designed to train leaders in spreading a culture of death, euthanasia, and cultural pessimism throughout American medicine. "Soros Scholars" were trained and paid to infiltrate medical centers and medical schools. They were to implement a propaganda campaign, largely financed by the pro-euthanasia Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, for the abandonment of high-technology medicine in favor of acceptance of death and the heavy use of narcotics.

Linda Emanuel was a top leader of this enterprise. She founded and led the Education for Physicians on End of Life Care (EPEC). The EPEC curriculum was developed with Charles F. von Gunten (a Soros Scholar), Frank F. Ferris (Soros), and Russell Portenoy (Soros). The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation gave $5 million to fund EPEC, and Soros gave about $140,000.

Linda Emanuel, by then a professor of bioethics at Harvard, also set up the Institute for Ethics for the American Medical Association. The goal of that entity within the AMA was to educate its member doctors on hospice and palliative care, as an alternative to curing people, so that killing them with poison would not be necessary. The AMA's program was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
